All items with the exception of Ammunition will be shipped via USPS or UPS (Ammunition will be shipped using Fed-Ex or UPS ground).

Returns

Returns will only be accepted for merchandise found defective immediately upon receipt. Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl  will provide YOUR CHOICE of a replacement item (pending availability) or full refund on all non-firearm products found defective upon receipt. Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl  will not claim any responsibility for items damaged in shipping. For items damaged in shipping, Users need to file a claim with the carrier. If you receive a defective item, please immediately call the shop at 361-315-5550  to request a return label.

VERY IMPORTANT- FIREARM RETURNS!!

Please take your time to inspect all firearms thoroughly BEFORE proceeding with the transfer. Once a new firearm is transferred to you it is considered used, even if unfired. Consequently, we cannot provide a full refund for new firearms once they have been transferred into your possession. Also, we DO NOT reimburse FFL transfer fees on returned items. We do understand that some manufacturer defects may not be identifiable upon initial inspection. However, upon discovering a defect AFTER the transfer, the firearm MUST be returned directly to the manufacturer for replacement or repair (in accordance with manufacturer’s warranty policy). By sending a defective firearm directly to the manufacturer, you can avoid the unnecessary transfer fees of returning the firearm to us through your local FFL dealer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND DEFECTIVE FIREARMS DIRECTLY TO Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl . Manufacturer repaired firearms can be returned directly to the customer without additional FFL transfer or associated fees. However, if the manufacturer chooses to replace the firearm, the replacement firearm must transfer through your local FFL dealer to document the replacement firearm serial number.

 

We ship only to valid FFL dealers.

Firearms cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box.

The customer is responsible for knowing his/her state laws regarding firearm transfers. Contact your local FFL dealer with any questions regarding the sale or transfer of firearms. Contact your local FFL before ordering a firearm to verify their transfer fee and to ensure they will receive your transfer. The customer assumes all responsibility and cost for returned firearms due to FFL refusal or failure to receive.

If you order a handgun, stockless shotgun, complete AR or AK receiver, or stripped lower receiver, YOU MUST be:

  • A legal resident of the state in which you are ordering.
  • 21 years of age or older to complete the transfer through your FFL.

Exceptions: Military personnel stationed in a state other than their legal residence may purchase firearms across state lines. Contact your local FFL receiving the transfer as you may have to provide proof of deployment, residence, etc.

Please follow all directions prompted to you at checkout. This will ensure speedier delivery. Please note that the FFL selection on our website is for customer convenience only and does not necessarily mean that  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl  has the FFL selected on file. The customer may be asked to provide the FFL information that they wish to use. If a customer wishes to change the FFL they want to use after the order has shipped, they will be additionally charged for the cost of shipping. If a FFL is not available at the time of delivery, the package will not be held at the carrier hub and will be returned to  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl. Additional shipping charges will apply to orders that need to be reshipped.

SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS

  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.).
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the state of Massachusetts.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY AR or AK Parts or Firearms (Including Receivers) to residents of Connecticut, Chicago, Illinois, Cook County, Illinois, or Deerfield, Illinois.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY AR or AK Firearms (Including Receivers) to residents of Aurora, Highland Park, Deerfield, or Cook County, Illinois.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship any handguns to CA that are not on the DOJ roster. This includes Single Shot Exemption conversions.
  • No AR parts will be shipped to Connecticut. All such orders will be cancelled and the customer will be charged a 5% fee.
  • All firearms sales to Puerto Rico residents are subject to review. Please send in a copy of your Puerto Rico-Issued weapons license after placing your order to sales@shinertactical.com. Allow up to 3-5 business days for additional processing.
  • Stripped lower receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • Colorado (Boulder, Denver, Vail)
    • Connecticut
    • Massachusetts
  • Complete AR and AK receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • California
    • Colorado (Boulder, Denver, Vail)
    • Connecticut
    • Maryland
    • New Jersey
    • New York
  • Non-Compliant AR & AK models will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • California (No “assault weapons” can be shipped.)

  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl does NOT ship directly to L.E.O.’s; the order must go to an FFL.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl does NOT make exceptions for this policy.

P.O. Box Shipments/Restrictions

Firearms cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box.

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all Federal Regulations regarding hazardous material shipped through United States Postal Service. A hazardous material is any article or substance designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation as being capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety, or property during transportation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Minor Blast/Minor Projection Hazard — Ammunition
  • Oxidizing Substances — Batteries
  • Flammable Solids — Black Powder
  • Flammable and combustible liquid — Cleaners, oil, and aerosol cans

If you wish to order any hazardous material, you must provide a physical address for shipment through UPS.

Magazine Ordering Restrictions

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of high capacity magazines. We DO NOT ship high-capacity magazines with firearms to the states listed below. We WILL NOT replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines. We DO NOT offer refunds in place of the magazines.

It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding state laws regarding magazine capacities. Customers ordering magazines that are illegal to own in their state will have their orders cancelled and will be charged a 5% restocking fee.

STATES WITH APPLIED MAGAZINE RESTRICTIONS

  • California — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Colorado — No magazines greater than 15 rounds, effective July 1st, 2013
    • Boulder — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Connecticut — 10 Rounds and less with a valid permit.
  • Hawaii — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Illinois (North Chicago) — No rifle magazines greater than 16 rounds

Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Supplwill not ship high capacity magazines for CA customers to a High Capacity Magazine Dealer. High Capacity Magazine Dealers in CA may place orders with  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl directly.

Ammunition Ordering Restrictions

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of ammunition.

  • You agree and accept all policies described in our Terms of Use.
  • You are at least 21 years of age (for handgun ammunition) or 18 years of age (for rifle ammunition).
  • By purchasing ammunition, you are not violating any local, state, or federal laws.
  • You have not been convicted of any felony, a misdemeanor of domestic abuse, and you are not chemically dependent.
  • You have no legal restraint that would prohibit you from possessing, ordering, owning, or transferring ammunition.
  • You have never been committed to any mental institution, or been adjudicated as mentally defective. You will not sell ammunition to any minor.
  • You cannot have ammunition shipped to a post office box.
  • You do not live in a state, city, or county that prohibits you from owning, purchasing, or transferring ammunition.
  • Customers who order ammunition in states prohibiting the order of ammunition will have their orders cancelled and a 5% restocking fee will be charged.

WE WILL NOT SHIP AMMUNITION TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • California — No Sales to the cities of Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, or Avalon.
  • Connecticut — No sales without a valid permit.
  • Alaska — No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Hawaii — No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Illinois — No sales to the city of Chicago or Cook County. All other Illinois residents must email us a copy of their FOID card in addition to their State ID. Ammunition must ship to an address on one of these ID’s.
  • Massachusetts — No sales.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the state of Massachusetts.
  • Maryland — No Sales to the City of Annapolis and Montgomery County
  • New York — No Sales to New York City, or its five Burroughs. Starting January 1st, 2014 all ammunition must be sent to a FFL.
  • New Jersey — When ordering ammunition commonly used in a handgun/to be used in a handgun, email us a copy of your Firearms ID. We must ship to the address on the FID.
  • Puerto Rico —No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Washington D.C. — No sales.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia.

Legal FAQs – Buying Firearms Online from Shiner Tactical

Important: Firearm laws change frequently and vary by state and locality. The information below is for general educational purposes only and is not legal advice. Customers are responsible for knowing and following all federal, state, and local laws before purchasing.

Can I legally buy a gun online from Shiner Tactical?

Yes. Under federal law you can purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer over the internet, but the firearm cannot be shipped directly to your home. It must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee (“FFL”) in your state of residence, where you will complete the required federal paperwork and background check before taking possession.

Shiner Tactical is a federally licensed firearms dealer and follows all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Will you ship a firearm directly to my house?

No. Federal law prohibits shipping a firearm directly to an unlicensed individual in another state. All firearms purchased online must ship to an FFL dealer (gun store, pawn shop with FFL, etc.) in your state.

When you check out, you’ll select (or help us identify) a local FFL to receive your firearm. That dealer will handle the transfer and background check.

What is an FFL transfer?

An FFL transfer is the legal process of moving a firearm from a licensed dealer (like Shiner Tactical) to you through another licensed dealer in your state.

At the receiving dealer you will:

  1. Present valid government-issued photo ID.
  2. Complete ATF Form 4473.
  3. Undergo a background check (usually through the FBI NICS system or a state equivalent).
  4. Comply with any additional state-specific requirements.

If you pass and there are no other legal restrictions, the FFL will transfer the firearm to you.

What are the federal age requirements to buy a firearm from a dealer?

Under federal law (which applies nationwide to all FFL dealers):

  • Handguns / frames / receivers: At least 21 years old.
  • Long guns (rifles and shotguns) and their ammo: At least 18 years old.

Some states impose stricter age limits or additional requirements. If your state has stricter rules than federal law, your state’s law controls.

I live outside Texas. Can I still buy a gun online from Shiner Tactical?

Yes, with conditions:

  • Firearms: We can sell to out-of-state customers, but all firearms must ship to an FFL in your state of residence. That local FFL will complete your Form 4473, run the background check, and follow your state’s waiting periods, permits, or other restrictions (if any).
  • NFA items (suppressors, SBRs, etc.): These must go to an in-state FFL/SOT in your state that is authorized to handle NFA firearms, and the ATF transfer process must be followed (see below).

We reserve the right to cancel any order that cannot be completed lawfully in the destination state.

Do I have to pass a background check if I buy online?

Yes. Buying online does not bypass the federal background check requirement.

To take possession of any firearm purchased from Shiner Tactical through an FFL, you must:

  1. Complete ATF Form 4473 at the receiving FFL.
  2. Pass a background check (unless a specific federal or state exemption applies under that dealer’s procedures).
  3. Satisfy any state or local requirements (permits, waiting periods, etc., where applicable).

If the background check is denied or delayed, the receiving FFL must follow applicable law and their own policies.

Who is prohibited from buying or possessing a firearm?

Federal law prohibits certain persons from receiving or possessing firearms or ammunition, including (but not limited to):

  • Anyone convicted of a felony or certain domestic-violence misdemeanors.
  • Fugitives from justice.
  • Persons subject to certain qualifying restraining orders.
  • Unlawful users of or addicts to controlled substances.
  • Persons adjudicated as mentally defective or committed to a mental institution.
  • Illegal or unlawful aliens, and some non-immigrant visa holders.
  • Persons dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Persons who have renounced U.S. citizenship.

If you fall into any prohibited category, you cannot lawfully buy or possess a firearm or ammunition under federal law.

What happens if I fail the background check?

If the FBI or state authority returns a “Denied” response, the FFL cannot legally transfer the firearm to you. Typically:

  • The firearm will remain with the FFL.
  • You may receive instructions from the background-check agency on how to appeal if you believe the denial was in error.
  • Our and/or the receiving FFL’s store policies will govern any restocking or cancellation fees.

We cannot provide legal advice on how to challenge or overturn a denial.

How do online purchases of NFA items (suppressors, SBRs, etc.) work?

Items regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA) (such as suppressors and certain short-barreled rifles) involve additional federal steps:

  1. You purchase the NFA item from Shiner Tactical (online or in-store).
  2. We (or your local in-state FFL/SOT) file the appropriate ATF form (typically Form 4 for transfers to individuals or trusts).
  3. You submit fingerprints, photos, and pay the required federal tax stamp (currently $200 per item unless changed by law).
  4. ATF conducts an extended background review.
  5. Once ATF approves, you may take possession of the NFA item from the dealer listed on the form.

NFA items cannot be shipped directly to your home and generally must stay with the dealer until ATF approval is received.

Can you ship firearms or magazines to any state?

No. Some states and localities restrict certain:

  • Firearm types or features,
  • Magazine capacities,
  • Configurations (e.g., “assault weapon” or “copycat” bans).

Shiner Tactical complies with all applicable laws and therefore will not ship items where they are restricted or prohibited. If you order a restricted item and we cannot lawfully complete the order, your order may be cancelled or modified according to our store policies.

It is your responsibility to know your local laws before ordering.

Is there a federal waiting period for online gun purchases?

Federal law does not impose a universal waiting period. However:

  • If a background check is delayed, the FFL must wait for a final response or follow federal “default proceed” rules where permitted.
  • Some states impose their own waiting periods for picking up a firearm. In those states, the receiving FFL must obey state law.

If your state requires a waiting period, that time will apply even if you bought the firearm online.

  • 21 years of age or older to complete the transfer through your FFL.

Exceptions: Military personnel stationed in a state other than their legal residence may purchase firearms across state lines. Contact your local FFL receiving the transfer as you may have to provide proof of deployment, residence, etc.

Please follow all directions prompted to you at checkout. This will ensure speedier delivery. Please note that the FFL selection on our website is for customer convenience only and does not necessarily mean that  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl  has the FFL selected on file. The customer may be asked to provide the FFL information that they wish to use. If a customer wishes to change the FFL they want to use after the order has shipped, they will be additionally charged for the cost of shipping. If a FFL is not available at the time of delivery, the package will not be held at the carrier hub and will be returned to  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl. Additional shipping charges will apply to orders that need to be reshipped.

SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS

  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.).
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the state of Massachusetts.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY AR or AK Parts or Firearms (Including Receivers) to residents of Connecticut, Chicago, Illinois, Cook County, Illinois, or Deerfield, Illinois.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY AR or AK Firearms (Including Receivers) to residents of Aurora, Highland Park, Deerfield, or Cook County, Illinois.
  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship any handguns to CA that are not on the DOJ roster. This includes Single Shot Exemption conversions.
  • No AR parts will be shipped to Connecticut. All such orders will be cancelled and the customer will be charged a 5% fee.
  • All firearms sales to Puerto Rico residents are subject to review. Please send in a copy of your Puerto Rico-Issued weapons license after placing your order to sales@shinertactical.com. Allow up to 3-5 business days for additional processing.
  • Stripped lower receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • Colorado (Boulder, Denver, Vail)
    • Connecticut
    • Massachusetts
  • Complete AR and AK receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • California
    • Colorado (Boulder, Denver, Vail)
    • Connecticut
    • Maryland
    • New Jersey

  • Non-Compliant AR & AK models will NOT be shipped to the following states:
    • California (No “assault weapons” can be shipped.)

  •  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl does NOT ship directly to L.E.O.’s; the order must go to an FFL.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl does NOT make exceptions for this policy.

P.O. Box Shipments/Restrictions

Firearms cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box.

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all Federal Regulations regarding hazardous material shipped through United States Postal Service. A hazardous material is any article or substance designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation as being capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety, or property during transportation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Minor Blast/Minor Projection Hazard — Ammunition
  • Oxidizing Substances — Batteries
  • Flammable Solids — Black Powder
  • Flammable and combustible liquid — Cleaners, oil, and aerosol cans

If you wish to order any hazardous material, you must provide a physical address for shipment through UPS.

Magazine Ordering Restrictions

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of high capacity magazines. We DO NOT ship high-capacity magazines with firearms to the states listed below. We WILL NOT replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines. We DO NOT offer refunds in place of the magazines.

It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding state laws regarding magazine capacities. Customers ordering magazines that are illegal to own in their state will have their orders cancelled and will be charged a 5% restocking fee.

STATES WITH APPLIED MAGAZINE RESTRICTIONS

  • California — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Colorado — No magazines greater than 15 rounds, effective July 1st, 2013
    • Boulder — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Connecticut — 10 Rounds and less with a valid permit.
  • Hawaii — No magazines greater than 10 rounds
  • Illinois (North Chicago) — No rifle magazines greater than 16 rounds
    • Aurora, Skokie, Chicago, Evanston — No rifle magazines greater than 15 rounds
    • Highland Park, Cook County, Dolton, Homewood, Deerfield — No rifle magazines greater than 10 rounds
    • Deerfield — No shotgun magazines over 5 rounds
  • Indiana (South Bend) — No magazines greater than 15 rounds
  • Maryland — No magazines greater than 10 rounds October 1st, 2013

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Supplwill not ship high capacity magazines for CA customers to a High Capacity Magazine Dealer. High Capacity Magazine Dealers in CA may place orders with  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl directly.

Ammunition Ordering Restrictions

 Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of ammunition.

  • You agree and accept all policies described in our Terms of Use.
  • You are at least 21 years of age (for handgun ammunition) or 18 years of age (for rifle ammunition).
  • By purchasing ammunition, you are not violating any local, state, or federal laws.
  • You have not been convicted of any felony, a misdemeanor of domestic abuse, and you are not chemically dependent.
  • You have no legal restraint that would prohibit you from possessing, ordering, owning, or transferring ammunition.
  • You have never been committed to any mental institution, or been adjudicated as mentally defective. You will not sell ammunition to any minor.
  • You cannot have ammunition shipped to a post office box.
  • You do not live in a state, city, or county that prohibits you from owning, purchasing, or transferring ammunition.
  • Customers who order ammunition in states prohibiting the order of ammunition will have their orders cancelled and a 5% restocking fee will be charged.

WE WILL NOT SHIP AMMUNITION TO THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • California — No Sales to the cities of Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, or Avalon.
  • Connecticut — No sales without a valid permit.
  • Alaska — No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Hawaii — No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Illinois — No sales to the city of Chicago or Cook County. All other Illinois residents must email us a copy of their FOID card in addition to their State ID. Ammunition must ship to an address on one of these ID’s.
  • Massachusetts — No sales.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the state of Massachusetts.
  • Maryland — No Sales to the City of Annapolis and Montgomery County
  • New York — No Sales to New York City, or its five Burroughs. Starting January 1st, 2014 all ammunition must be sent to a FFL.
  • New Jersey — When ordering ammunition commonly used in a handgun/to be used in a handgun, email us a copy of your Firearms ID. We must ship to the address on the FID.
  • Puerto Rico —No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.
  • Washington D.C. — No sales.  Matchworks LLC DBA Shiner Tactical Suppl will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia.

  • Ohio — No Mossberg 590 Shockwave or Remington Tac-14 shotguns.
  • Vermont — No rifle magazines over 10 rounds will be shipped as of April 13, 2018. No pistol magazines over 15 rounds effective immediately.
  • Washington D.C. — No sales.
